Richmond Man Dies in Triple Shooting on Christmas Day

Richmond, VA — A 22-year-old man was killed in a triple shooting at an apartment complex on Christmas Day, prompting an ongoing homicide investigation by Richmond police.

The incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. on December 25, 2024, at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Clarkson Road. Officers with the Richmond Police Department responded to reports of random gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Dashawn Kahn, 22, of Richmond, in a stairwell of the complex. Kahn had been shot in the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two additional men, whose identities have not been released, were also found at the scene with gunshot wounds. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening. One of the victims refused medical treatment, while the other was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Authorities have classified Kahn’s death as a homicide and are treating the injuries sustained by the other two men as aggravated assaults. Investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but no arrests have been made at this time.
