RICHMOND, Va. — A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old in Richmond earlier this year. Orlando Logan, a Richmond resident, faces multiple charges, including murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, discharging a firearm in a public place, and possession of a firearm by a violent felon.
The charges stem from the deadly shooting of Nathaniel Mangram, a 22-year-old Richmond native, who was found unresponsive on the front yard of a building on the 1300 block of Coalter Street on the morning of February 4. Richmond Police responded to the scene around 1:52 a.m., where they discovered Mangram with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Richmond Police Department, Logan was indicted on March 14, nearly six weeks after the shooting. Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the incident but are continuing to investigate.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward. Major Crimes Detective M. Godwin can be reached at 804-317-6922 for tips or additional details.
The community remains on edge as investigators work to uncover more about the events leading up to Mangram’s death.
