Project expansion of Cass County Jail right on schedule

Cass County, North Dakota – Project expansion of the Cass County Jail goes as planned.

The project expansion is being done in two phases. The first phase is scheduled to be completed by November and the second one in June, 2022.

The expansion project includes the construction of a new sally port, or prisoner transfer section, as well as repair of the existing sally port to provide much-needed additional space in tight areas.

“When phase one is all complete we’ll have a brand new garage, additional processing and intake space, and 10 new additional cells.  Then after those upgrades, renovations to the existing booking area will be completed,” said Andy Frobig, Jail Administrator Captain.

$4.7 million will be spent for this project.
