PETERSBURG, Va. – A 33-year-old Petersburg man was arrested on March 26 after narcotics and a firearm were allegedly found in his possession during a routine traffic stop. The individual, identified as Kerri Omar Dennis, was stopped by Petersburg Police officers in the 300 block of St. Luke Street.
According to authorities, Dennis was arrested after a search revealed both a firearm and illegal narcotics on his person. The charges against Dennis include possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance.
Dennis was taken into custody and transported to Riverside Regional Jail. Following the arrest, he was released on a secure bond.
The Petersburg Bureau of Police continues to investigate the case, and authorities have not released further details at this time.
