Owner of Powhatan Sports Academy Arrested on Child Sexual Abuse Charges

POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. — Joseph Edward Parker, the 50-year-old owner and operator of Fast Feet Sports Academy in Powhatan, has been arrested on multiple charges, including aggravated sexual battery and indecent liberties with a child. Parker faces four counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child under the age of 13, and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory role.

According to the Powhatan County Sheriff’s Office, the charges stem from an ongoing investigation into allegations involving Parker’s actions with a minor. Authorities did not disclose further details regarding the victim or the exact nature of the incidents.

Fast Feet Sports Academy, located at 2140 Carter Gallier Boulevard, has been a local sports training facility specializing in youth athletic development. Parker’s arrest has raised concerns within the community, especially among parents and families who had entrusted their children to the academy’s programs.

Parker is currently being held without bond, and his arraignment is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, March 21, at Powhatan General District Court.
