BISMARCK — Following are the North Dakota Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations and vaccinations as of Friday, March 19. Because all data is preliminary, some numbers and totals may change from one day to the next.
Statewide case rates
- NEW CASES: 119
- TOTAL ACTIVE CASES: 787

- DAILY TEST POSITIVITY RATE: 3.6%
North Dakota’s active case count increased by 14 on Friday. Cass County, which includes Fargo, saw 54 new cases and has 37% of the state’s active cases. More than 60% of North Dakota’s active infections are concentrated in its four largest metro areas: Fargo, Bismarck, Grand Forks and Minot. The two-week rolling average positivity rate is 2.8%.
Hospitalizations, deaths

The department reported the death a Nelson County man in his 80s. Hospitalizations dropped by three over the previous day.
Vaccinations
- FIRST DOSE ADMINISTERED: 194,903 (27% of population)
- FULL VACCINE COVERAGE: 115,524 (16% of population)
