BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. — A weeklong investigation led by the Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the seizure of nearly $100,000 worth of illegal drugs and firearms, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana.
The operation began on January 17, when deputies executed a search warrant in the 1000 block of Ca Ira Road. Authorities confiscated nearly 3.3 pounds of marijuana and two firearms during the initial search.
On January 23, law enforcement officials conducted additional search warrants at multiple locations throughout the county. The first search took place on Hundley Branch Road, where deputies seized approximately 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine, over 500 pressed fentanyl pills, seven firearms, as well as an undisclosed quantity of fentanyl powder, cocaine, and marijuana.
About nine miles south, deputies executed another search warrant on South Constitution Route, where they recovered about five pounds of marijuana and three firearms. However, no illegal substances or items were found on Axtell Road.
The final search warrant was carried out on January 24 at a property on Johnson Station Road. Deputies recovered several ounces of cocaine, two firearms, three pounds of methamphetamine, and $26,000 in cash, along with an additional three pounds of meth.
Authorities have stated that the total street value of the items seized during the operation is estimated to be nearly $100,000.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details regarding arrests or suspects have been released at this time.
