Fargo, North Dakota – A man has been arrested after going into numerous residences in North Fargo early Wednesday morning armed with a weapon. He has also been recognized as a high-risk sex offender.
The suspect, identified as Daniel Fike Grinder, 35, entered a residence in the 1500 block of 10th Street North with a gun at 4:30 a.m., but did not threaten anybody, according to Fargo Police. Grinder then walked away without incident, prompting residence owners to alert the police.
Due to its proximity, authorities contacted North Dakota State University while responding. The man was identified by the responding cops, who discovered he was on probation and wearing a GPS ankle monitor. Officers set up a perimeter and searched for Grinder, only to be dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of 12th Street North at 6:49 a.m. for a similar report of an apparently drunk man entering the property illegally. Officers discovered a gun behind a residence in the neighborhood while searching for him.
Grinder was located in the backyard of a residence in the 1400 block of North University Drive after working with ND Parole and Probation to locate him. Grinder did not resist and was taken into custody by the police.
He was arrested for two counts of Felony Criminal Trespass as well as Felon in possession of a firearm.
