Man Killed, Woman Injured in Richmond Shooting

RICHMOND, Va. — A man is dead and a woman is in the hospital after both were shot in Richmond’s Northside on Monday evening.

The Richmond Police Department responded to a shooting call just after 6:30 p.m. on March 31 in the 4900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

A second victim, a woman, was also found to have been shot. She was transported to a hospital in a personal vehicle. According to police, her injuries are not considered life-threatening, and she is currently receiving treatment.
