Man Killed in Tragic Memorial Day Accident in Henrico County

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – A man died Monday evening in a tragic accident after the vehicle he was working under collapsed and fell on top of him, according to authorities in Henrico County.

Emergency responders with Henrico Police and Fire were dispatched to the 9000 block of Patterson Avenue on the evening of May 26 for what was initially reported as a medical emergency. Upon arrival, first responders found a man trapped beneath his personal vehicle.

According to Henrico Police, the man had been working underneath the car when it suddenly fell, pinning him beneath the weight. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, but officials believe it to be a “very tragic accident.” The specific cause of the vehicle’s collapse has not been determined.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
