Man from Grand Forks hurt in Barnes County snowplow accident

Barnes County, North Dakota – A collision occurred in Barnes County on Monday morning involving a snowplow from the North Dakota Department of Transportation.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the plow was traveling eastbound in the left shoulder and driving lane of I-94 near mile marker 274 when an 18-year-old Grand Forks man approached it from behind.

The snowplow’s left wing and rear driver side were both struck by the man’s Jeep as it veered left and into the median. The Jeep then rolled into the median.

The driver was taken by Valley City EMS for treatment of crash-related minor injuries. The snowplow driver was unharmed.

The accident is still being looked into.
