Man Dead, Two Injured in Richmond Shooting on Christmas Night

Richmond, VA — A shooting on the Southside of Richmond late Christmas night left one man dead and two others injured, according to the Richmond Police Department. The incident took place on December 25 at approximately 9:29 p.m. in the 1400 block of Clarkson Road.

Officers responding to reports of random gunfire discovered a man unresponsive in a stairwell of an apartment building. The victim, who had suffered a gunshot wound to the torso, was pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition to the deceased, two other men were injured in connection with the shooting. One man was found at the scene with a gunshot wound, but his injuries were not life-threatening. The second man, also suffering from a gunshot wound, took himself to a local hospital, where his injuries were similarly determined to be non-life-threatening.

The Richmond Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is actively investigating the incident. Authorities have urged anyone with information to contact Detective B. Neifield at 804-646-3246.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and officials have not released any further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
