Man Dead After Christmas Night Shooting at Richmond Apartment Complex

Richmond, VA — Richmond police are investigating a deadly triple shooting that occurred on Christmas night at the Southwood Apartments on the city’s Southside.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of random gunfire in the 1400 block of Clarkson Road, which is located at the Southwood Apartments. Upon arrival, authorities discovered an adult male in a stairwell of one of the apartment buildings. The victim was unresponsive and appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound.

According to Chelsea Taylor, a spokesperson for the Richmond Police Department, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Crime Insider sources later revealed that the victim had been shot in the chest.

The police have not yet released the identity of the victim or further details regarding the circumstances of the shooting. Investigators are working to determine the motive behind the crime and whether the shooting was targeted or random.

This incident marks the latest in a string of violent crimes in the city, as Richmond Police continue to urge the public to come forward with any information that may aid in the investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made.
