Man arrested for using a can of hairspray as a flamethrower

Fargo Police responded to a call last night of a male using a can of hairspray as a flamethrower at Sanford Sleep and Dialysis in Fargo.

50-year-old Santos Mekwam, who was later identified, was using a can of hairspray as a flame thrower and was burning items in the entrance of the hospital.

A Sanford employee tried to stop Mekwam and grabbed him. Mekwam then punched the Sanford employee in the nose and fled.

Officers located him walking in a parking lot south of Sanford. Mekwam was arrested for endangerment by fire and an unrelated warrant.
