Lane closures are planned during the overnight hours this week, Feb. 12-15, on the I-66 general-purpose and express lanes near the Route 50 Interchange in Fairfax County

Richmond, VA – According to the state officials, intermittent traffic stoppages are also planned between midnight and 4 a.m.

STate officials also said that VDOT crews will be conducting overhead utility work as part of the final construction on the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

VDOT officials announced the following details:

Monday, February 12, and Wednesday, February 14
I-66 West at Waples Mill Road

  • Multiple lanes will be closed both nights from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for utility work.
  • Intermittent full stoppages will be implemented each night between midnight and 4 a.m.

Tuesday, February 13, and Thursday, February 15
66 Express Lanes West at Waples Mill Road

  • The left lane will be closed both nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for utility work.
  • Intermittent full stoppages each night between midnight and 4 a.m.

Thursday, February 15
I-66 East and West at Monument Drive

  • A mobile operation will close multiple lanes from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for light pole installation.
  • Crews will work in one direction and then switch to the other.

Thursday, February 15
66 Express Lanes East and West at Monument Drive

  • A mobile operation will close a single lane from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for light pole installation.
  • Crews will work in one direction and then switch to the other.
