I-81 southbound will have lane closures in place, reducing I-81 to one lane of travel, from mile marker 139 to 137 for paving operations from 7 p.m. through 6 a.m. beginning Monday, April 8 through Thursday, April 11, 2024

Richmond, VA – According to the VDOT officials, southbound lane closures have been scheduled for this week that may impact travelers traveling southbound after the eclipse event.

I-81 southbound will have lane closures in place, reducing I-81 to one lane of travel, from mile marker 139 to 137 for paving operations from 7 p.m. through 6 a.m. beginning Monday, April 8 through Thursday, April 11, 2024

Message boards will be in place to provide information for the traveling public and drivers are reminded that the speed limit through the work zone is 60 mph.
