RICHMOND, Va. — A 50-year-old Richmond man was found dead on the city’s Northside Friday evening, prompting a homicide investigation by local authorities.
The victim, later identified as June Green, Jr., was discovered by Richmond Police officers around 4:03 p.m. on May 2 in the 3900 block of Old Brook Road. Officers responded to a report of a person down and arrived to find Green, Jr. lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner. However, Richmond Police have classified the incident as a homicide, and an active investigation is ongoing.
