BRUNSWICK COUNTY, Va. – A high-speed pursuit in Brunswick County ended in the arrest of a Hampton man, who now faces a lengthy list of criminal charges. Delmar Curtis Staton-Davies, 34, was taken into custody following a Friday afternoon chase that spanned multiple roads and involved multiple law enforcement agencies.
The incident began at approximately 12:02 p.m. on March 21, when the Brunswick Sheriff’s Office (BSO) initiated a pursuit of a vehicle traveling at high speeds on Route 58. However, after the pursuit was called off, authorities quickly observed the same vehicle speeding again, this time reaching 100 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Virginia State Police (VSP) then took over the pursuit, which continued onto Interstate 95 northbound. Staton-Davies, the driver, later exited onto Route 301, heading south into Emporia. There, he struck a curb and a road sign before fleeing the scene on foot.
Following a brief search, Staton-Davies was apprehended with assistance from the Greenville Sheriff’s Office and Emporia Police Department.
Subsequent investigation and the execution of multiple search warrants revealed a troubling array of illegal items in Staton-Davies’s possession. Authorities discovered a significant number of stolen items, including credit cards, driver’s licenses, and passports that did not belong to Staton-Davies.
He was taken into custody and transported to Southside Regional Jail, where he faces a total of 30 felony charges, seven misdemeanors, and four traffic infractions.

Staton-Davies also faces several traffic infractions, including failure to stop at a red light, two counts of failing to obey a stop sign, and improper passing.
This arrest is the culmination of a multi-agency effort involving local and state law enforcement, highlighting the seriousness of Staton-Davies’s alleged crimes and his disregard for public safety. Staton-Davies remains in custody at Southside Regional Jail as he awaits further legal proceedings.
