Grand Forks, North Dakota – Police in Grand Forks are advising residents to be on the lookout for counterfeit medications.

Police say they continue to see fentanyl based drugs made to look as 30 mg oxycodone pills.

Fentanyl has the potential to cause serious injuries or death.

In addition, police reminded the public about the Good Samaritan law, which was created to encourage witnesses to call 911 in case of an overdose. It protects up to three persons from prosecution for ingesting or possession of a substance, including the person overdosing.
