Governor Whitmer providing update on COVID-19 pandemic

LANSING, Mich. – Governor Gretchen Whitmer and state health officials will provide an update on the COVID-19 pandemic and response Friday.

Governor Whitmer will be joined by Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, and MDHHS Director Robert Gordon.

The press conference will take place starting at 1:30 p.m.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 4,024 new cases and 190 new deaths on Thursday.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state of Michigan was 450,776 with total deaths at 11,208.
