Gov. Youngkin presented his amendments to Virginia’s biennium budget, establishing a Common Ground Budget for the entire Commonwealth

Richmond, VA – Per reports, Governor Glenn Youngkin released the following statement:

“Today, I am proud to release my amendments for a Common Ground Budget. It demonstrates our commitment not as Republicans or Democrats, not as Senators, Delegates or a Governor—but as Virginians delivering for Virginians.

This Common Ground Budget is clean—without tax increases or decreases—it’s structurally balanced, fulfills our constitutional requirements, invests in our collective priorities and keeps Virginia forging ahead on a winning path.

The Commonwealth’s financially robust and sustainable position enables us to invest in our collective priorities without further burdening taxpayers.

This Common Ground Budget means we can affirm the importance of a world-class, quality education, conserve our natural resources, serve our veterans, Virginians can keep more of their hard-earned money and we can keep Virginia moving to compete to win jobs, win people, and win opportunity.”
