Gov. Burgum is going to Texas to visit the troops securing the southern border

Bismarck, North Dakota – On Monday, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum is going to pay a visit to North Dakota National Guard members who are assisting to secure the border between the United States and Mexico.

The commander-in-chief of the state’s National Guard will pay a visit to around one hundred members of the 188th Engineer Company, which is headquartered in Wahpeton.

The operation to assist Operation Lone Star has been underway for the past week and will last for thirty days.

In addition, Burgum will meet with personnel of the 1st Battalion, 112th Aviation Regiment, who are currently stationed in support of the United States Customs and Border Protection while on federal deployment.

According to Burgum, putting a halt to illegal activities along the southern border is essential to the safety of both our state and our nation.
