Four People Injured in Crash Involving Ambulance in Henrico County

Richmond, VA – Four individuals were injured in a collision between a sedan and an ambulance on Monday afternoon, December 23, in Henrico County. The crash, which occurred around 12:48 p.m., took place at the intersection of Brook and Parham roads, prompting a response from the Henrico County Police Division and fire crews.

According to police, a sedan struck an American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance, causing it to flip over. The ambulance was transporting a patient at the time of the crash.

Emergency responders were able to rescue four individuals from the two vehicles involved in the crash. Three people were removed from the overturned ambulance, including two AMR staff members and the patient. All three sustained minor injuries. The driver of the sedan, who was also rescued from the vehicle, was taken to a nearby hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities confirmed that the driver of the ambulance will face charges for failure to obey a traffic light in connection with the incident.

The crash caused significant traffic disruptions, with Brook and Parham roads being closed for several hours. The roads were reopened by 2:26 p.m.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
