Following an unexpected narrowing of applicants, the Fargo City Administrator Selection Committee presents a recommendation

Fargo, North Dakota – Following a meeting with the probable candidates on Friday morning, the selection committee for Fargo’s next city administrator has issued a recommendation.

The selection committee interviewed James Puffalt, the city manager of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and Michael Redlinger, the current temporary city administrator, in order to make a recommendation to the City Commission.

Redlinger was chosen as the committee’s top choice, which includes several members of the city commission.

At their upcoming formal meeting, the City Commission will decide whether to potentially authorize Redlinger.

Four candidates were listed and sent to the committee, however, two withdrew before the meeting of the selection committee.

Pat Oman and Kenneth Haskin canceled their candidacies 24 hours before the meeting, therefore they did not show up for the live, in-person interviews.
