Fargo, North Dakota – On Saturday, because of the rising water levels in the Red River in the city of Fargo, city workers were forced to close up a portion of Elm Street North.
Around seven in the morning on Saturday, the river reached a height of over 17 feet in Fargo. Due to the fact that water is rushing over Elm Street N. at that level, 18 feet is deemed to be the minor flood stage.
The section of Elm Street North that is located between 13th and 15th Avenues N. will be closed. The 3rd Street N. corridor will serve as the detour for the traffic.
This particular segment of the street will be closed until such time as the river levels drop below the roadway.
