West Fargo, North Dakota – After equipment and grass caught fire at the city’s inert dump, firefighters in West Fargo will spend several days monitoring a controlled burn.
A vehicle fire at 806 26th Street NW prompted a call to West Fargo Fire crews. When they got there, the equipment was completely enveloped in flames, and a brush pile was also on fire.
According to a department official, personnel started a defensive effort against the fire but were unable to succeed because of the intense heat and strong wind gusts.
For several days, there will likely be considerable smoke from the fire.
Nobody was harmed. The fire’s origin is being looked into.
The West Fargo Rural Fire Department and West Fargo Police helped put out the fire.
