Fire Displaces Family in Chesterfield County Early Sunday Morning

Chesterfield County, VA – A family of five has been displaced following a house fire in the early hours of Sunday morning. At approximately 6 a.m. on January 12, Chesterfield Fire and EMS crews responded to a report of a structure fire in the 7500 block of Whirlaway Drive.

Upon arrival, firefighters found fire coming from a second-story bedroom of the home. Crews immediately began battling the flames and worked swiftly to contain the blaze. Firefighters had the fire under control in roughly 40 minutes, preventing further damage to the home.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The two adults and three children who lived in the home have been displaced due to the damage caused by the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Chesterfield Fire officials have not released further details at this time. Local authorities are working with the family to assist with temporary housing while they recover from the incident.
