Father and daughter who were rescued from a flaming Fargo apartment passed away

Fargo, North Dakota – Two people who were pulled from a burning apartment in South Fargo on Friday have perished: a dad and his daughter. They have been identified by firefighters as Jose Zamarron Tellez, 26, and Serenity Rae Zamarron, 3.

Just after 3 o’clock in the afternoon, firefighters were summoned to 4355 10th Ave. S due to smoke in a three-story apartment building’s second-floor hallway.

Crews arrived to find a second-floor flat on fire. Firefighters took the father and daughter after finding them while searching the flat. They were taken straight to the hospital.

SerenityLater that day, Rae passed away, and her father passed on the next day.

The Cass County Coroner’s Office and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office are both looking into their deaths.

Investigations continue to determine the fire’s origin.
