Anamoose, North Dakota – One mile east of Anamoose, North Dakota, a truck passing a semi caused a fatal head-on collision that left one person dead and another in the hospital. An 88-year-old Harvey, North Dakota man was driving a pickup truck westbound when he passed a semi being operated by a 23-year-old Lethbridge, Alberta, man on Highway 52’s eastbound lanes.
A westbound automobile being driven by a 38-year-old Anamoose, North Dakota, lady collided head-on with the pickup truck. The semi was then hit by the truck before coming to a stop on the north shoulder.
The truck and car drivers both need assistance getting out of their cars. The car’s driver was declared dead on the spot. The truck’s unbelted driver suffered critical injuries and was transported by ambulance to a Harvey hospital before being transferred to Trinity Health in Minot. The semi-truck driver was unharmed.
Charges against the driver of the passing truck are still being investigated, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
