Fargo Police Confirm Austin Ruddell is in Custody

(Fargo, ND) — The search is over for a teen who terrorized an emergency shelter.

Fargo Police say 18-year-old Austin Jay Ruddell forced his way into Stepping Stones Resource Center, 2902 South University Drive, through a secured door, and threatened staff with a gun. Workers immediately locked down the facility, which then led to Ruddell fleeing the property in a vehicle.

After an extensive search, authorities located Ruddell’s car and firearm Thursday morning in South Fargo.

Ruddell, who turned himself in to FPD at 4:30 in the afternoon Thursday, is charged with Terrorizing and Burglary.
