Driver Identified in Fatal Chesterfield Crash on Buford Road

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — The Chesterfield County Police Department has identified the driver killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred earlier this month on Buford Road.

Authorities said 28-year-old Cyquan F. Harris died after losing control of his vehicle on the night of Thursday, April 11. The incident took place at approximately 10:34 p.m. in the 200 block of Buford Road.

According to police, Harris was driving a sedan southbound at a high rate of speed when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a power pole. Harris was ejected from the car as a result of the crash. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Chesterfield Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials have not released information about potential contributing factors beyond speed.
