Fargo, North Dakota – Dave Piepkorn, a Fargo City Commissioner, is in Bismarck talking about what he calls his legislative goals for the 2018 session.
“This is just my opinion, but the Renaissance Zone in downtown Fargo, that’s been such a success. I hope we can continue that and hopefully expand it. I hope they look at expanding that into the neighborhoods to use a Renaissance Zone style for people getting a five-year exemption for housing as well,” said Piepkorn.
It will be interesting to observe what the lawmakers do with the Legacy Fund, Piepkorn adds.
The commissioner desires that a portion of the sum be used to support education.
He claims that would provide assistance for all homeowners, especially those on fixed incomes, and lower property tax bills by approximately a third.
