Colonial Heights Police Investigate Series of Residential Burglaries

Richmond, VA – The Colonial Heights Police Department is urging local residents to remain vigilant following a string of residential burglaries that have occurred since late November 2024. Authorities have reported 10 burglaries in the city, with investigations currently underway.

According to the Colonial Heights Police Department, the targeted properties include both single-family homes and vacant houses. The burglaries have taken place between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., with forced entry being a common factor in each incident. Stolen items include money, jewelry, personal documents, alcohol, and other household goods.

The department has released a map indicating the areas where the burglaries have taken place, with red dots marking the locations of the recent crimes.

“We are actively investigating these incidents and encourage residents to be alert,” said a spokesperson for the Colonial Heights Police Department. “If anyone notices suspicious activity in their neighborhoods, we ask that they report it immediately.”

In light of these burglaries, police are advising residents to take precautions to secure their homes. Steps such as ensuring all doors and windows are locked, installing security cameras, and informing neighbors of any unusual activity may help prevent future incidents.

The police are continuing their investigation and ask anyone with information related to the burglaries to come forward.
