CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A devastating house fire in Chesterfield County left two people displaced and claimed the lives of four pets early Sunday morning. The fire, which destroyed the home, broke out shortly before 10:30 a.m. on April 13, 2025, at a residence located in the 1100 block of Blossomwood Road.
Chesterfield Fire and EMS crews responded swiftly after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found the home fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked diligently to contain the blaze, bringing it under control in approximately 45 minutes. Despite their best efforts, the home suffered significant damage and is now considered uninhabitable.
As a result of the fire, two residents have been displaced. Tragically, four pets—believed to be family animals—perished in the blaze. Additionally, a dog and two cats remain unaccounted for, prompting further concern among family members and responders. There have been no reported injuries to the occupants of the home at this time.
The Chesterfield Fire Department has confirmed that the family is receiving assistance from the Red Cross as they cope with the aftermath of the fire. Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the blaze, though no conclusions have been reached yet.
