Chesterfield, Va. — A fire broke out in a Chesterfield apartment duplex on Sunday, March 16, displacing two individuals and sending one person to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The incident occurred at approximately 5:43 p.m. at 7909 Noel Court.
According to fire officials, the blaze started in the kitchen of the apartment, though the exact cause remains under investigation. Firefighters quickly responded to the scene and were able to contain the fire.
One of the two residents was taken to a local hospital after suffering non-life-threatening injuries due to smoke inhalation. Fortunately, the individual’s condition is not considered critical. The second resident was unharmed in the fire but is now displaced from their home.
The Chesterfield County Fire Department is continuing its investigation into the cause of the fire, which left significant damage to the kitchen area. Authorities have yet to release further details.
