Cass County, North Dakota – Following the arrest of one of its employees for driving while intoxicated in Minnesota, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office is now conducting an internal investigation.
On Saturday, Deputy Savanna Graser was taken into custody and booked at the Becker County Jail. On Monday, the office was informed that she had been arrested.
Graser started working for the Sheriff’s Office in November 2021, and he is now a non-licensed roster correctional deputy.
“It will always remain a top priority of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office to be transparent to the public and accept responsibility for our employees’ actions, both good and bad. We thank the Becker County Sheriff’s Office for keeping the public safe and for their professionalism while investigating this incident,” Sheriff Jesse Jahner said.
The duties of roster deputies are performed on an as-needed basis or at other times that are convenient for the deputy in charge. Deputy sheriffs on a roster are required to participate in monthly training and work a minimum of one shift each month. Graser was placed on administrative leave without pay since she was a roster deputy and not working in a full- or part-time status at the time the internal investigation began.
