Car Stolen from VCU Medical Center Parking Deck on New Year’s Eve

Richmond, VA – Police are investigating a car theft that occurred on New Year’s Eve at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Medical Center parking deck. The incident was reported just after 10 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the Visitor’s Deck located at 1220 E. Clay St. in Richmond.

According to VCU Police, the victim had parked their red 2012 Chevy Cruz, bearing the Virginia license plate WPJ-4654, on level P5 of the parking deck at approximately 7 a.m. that morning. The individual then went inside the medical center for an appointment.

Upon returning later in the day, the victim discovered that several personal items, including car keys, were missing. A subsequent investigation revealed that the car itself was also stolen during the course of the day.

VCU Police have described the suspect as a 42-year-old Black woman, approximately 4’10” in height and weighing around 110 lbs. The woman was reported to have black hair, brown eyes, and may have been wearing faded jeans at the time of the theft.
