Brush Fire Damages RV in Chesterfield County, Va.

Chesterfield County, Va. — A multi-acre brush fire in South Chesterfield caused significant damage to a backyard RV on Tuesday afternoon, February 26. The fire broke out around 4 p.m. at a residence located on River Road and Beverly Street. Fire and EMS crews were quickly dispatched to the scene after reports of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that a brush fire had ignited and spread to an RV situated in the homeowner’s backyard. Due to the close proximity of neighboring homes, there were concerns about the fire spreading further. As a result, additional fire units were called in to assist in controlling the blaze.

Despite the potential danger, firefighters were able to contain the fire in just over an hour. The flames burned through approximately two to three acres of land before being fully extinguished. The RV, however, was completely destroyed in the fire. Fortunately, officials confirmed that there was one person inside the RV at the time of the fire, but the individual managed to escape unharmed.

Firefighters have yet to determine the cause of the fire, which remains under investigation. The incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of brush fires, especially in residential areas with close-knit homes.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation as they work to determine the cause and prevent future incidents in the area.
