Authorities Search for Suspects Involved in Fatal Crash Near Richmond International Airport

Henrico County, Va. — Authorities are actively searching for multiple suspects involved in a deadly crash near Richmond International Airport (RIC) early Saturday morning. The incident occurred on March 22, 2025, when a vehicle traveling at high speeds in New Kent County collided with another vehicle, resulting in a fatality.

According to the New Kent County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy observed the suspect vehicle traveling westbound on Interstate 64 at 2:08 a.m. on Saturday, exceeding 110 mph. As the deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver of the suspect car refused to stop and continued to flee westbound into Henrico County.

The pursuit took a dangerous turn when the suspect vehicle exited I-64 onto Airport Drive, disregarding multiple traffic signals. The suspect vehicle then struck another car, causing a catastrophic crash. The driver of the vehicle that was hit tragically died at the scene, while the passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Following the crash, the suspects inside the vehicle fled on foot in the direction of Sandston. The Henrico County Police Department is leading the investigation with assistance from the New Kent County Sheriff’s Office and the Henrico Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. The Henrico Police Department’s Crash Team is working diligently to gather evidence and identify the suspects involved in the incident.

“This is a tragic and senseless event,” said a spokesperson for the Henrico County Police Department. “We are committed to finding those responsible and bringing them to justice.”
