Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting at Richmond Motel

Richmond, Va. — Authorities have arrested a woman in connection with a deadly shooting that took place earlier this year at a Southside Richmond motel. The victim, identified as 52-year-old Darrell Mann, was found fatally wounded inside a Motel 6 on Greshamwood Place near Midlothian Turnpike on the evening of Saturday, January 25.

According to the Richmond Police Department, officers arrived at the scene around 8:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Mann lying on the floor inside the motel with a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries.

On Tuesday, police announced that Misty Swift, 35, of Richmond, had been arrested and charged with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a violent felon. Swift, who is currently in custody, is facing serious charges in connection with Mann’s death.
