Bismarck, North Dakota – The National Energy Center of Excellence was the site of the annual fall career fair held by Bismarck State College on Wednesday.
More than 90 employers aiming to expand their workforce were welcomed by BSC.
Before graduating, students will have the opportunity to visit all the state’s various employers and learn about the various employment categories, according to officials.
By meeting employers in person rather than merely sending their resumes online, it also provides students an advantage.
“So, this is a chance for students to actually get in, get a job, and have things moving forward, whereas if you are applying online you may be one of a dozen, two dozen, or three dozen. But here you are face-to-face, you already know the employers, you know their HR people and you’re already one step ahead of other individuals who are trying to apply for similar jobs,” said Josh Randolph, director of career advising/counseling at BSC.
Additionally, according to BSC representatives, several companies interviewed candidates on Wednesday and will do so again on Thursday.
