Amelia County Public Schools Adjust Dismissal Times Following Snow Days

AMELIA COUNTY, Va. — In response to recent snow days, Amelia County Public Schools has announced a change in dismissal times, effective Monday, March 3. The adjustment is part of the school system’s efforts to make up for lost instructional time.

The new dismissal schedule for each school in the district is as follows:

  • Amelia County High School will now dismiss at 3:06 p.m.
  • Amelia County Middle School will release students at 3:16 p.m.
  • Amelia County Elementary School will dismiss at 3:26 p.m.

This change aims to ensure that students receive the full amount of educational hours required, despite the interruptions caused by the recent winter weather. Parents and guardians are advised to note the updated times to avoid any confusion or delays during pick-up.

The decision reflects the district’s commitment to maintaining a consistent learning environment while addressing the challenges brought on by unexpected weather events.
