After the crash at the Red River bridge, traffic on Interstate 94 is once again moving

Moorhead, North Dakota – On Sunday, May 7, a crash in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 on the Minnesota side of the Red River bridge caused traffic to be temporarily redirected off the interstate and onto South University Drive in Fargo. The delay in traffic lasted for well over an hour.

I-94 traffic was reopened at 1:40 p.m.

The extent of the accident and its specifics remain unknown at the moment.

Capt. Bryan Niewind of the North Dakota Highway Patrol said:
“There is a crash eastbound on I-94 on the Red River bridge. The crash is on the Minnesota side, so the Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the crash. Traffic is backed up and being diverted off at University Drive,” Niewind messaged.

The Minnesota State Patrol has been asked by The Forum for information regarding the collision.
