After five hours, the escapee from ND State Hospital is back in prison

Jamestown, North Dakota – One of the patients who ran out from the North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown has been taken back in.

According to the State Patrol, Jeffrey Cofresi, who is 28 years old and was on the run, was apprehended around five hours after his escape.

Cofresi, who state troopers say has a history of violent behavior, made his getaway from the State Hospital yesterday afternoon at about 2:00 p.m.

Cofresi, who was being housed in a maximum security unit at the time, assaulted a deputy working within the Cass County Jail in the month of July 2022.
