Henrico High School Student Hospitalized After Stabbing During Fight

Richmond, VA – A student is recovering in the hospital following a stabbing that occurred during a fight between two Henrico High School students on Wednesday afternoon. Henrico police responded to the school around 12:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a “serious altercation” on campus.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found two male students involved in the fight. One of the students sustained life-threatening injuries and was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, while the other student was taken to a different hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The school resource officer was already present on the scene when the police arrived and assisted in managing the situation. In response to the altercation, Henrico High School was placed on lockdown, a precautionary measure that lasted until the end of the school day. School officials emphasized that the incident was isolated and assured the community that there was no ongoing threat.

Henrico police confirmed that one of the students involved in the fight was arrested. At this time, authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

While the incident caused concern among parents and students, Henrico Schools released a statement affirming that there was no further danger to the school or surrounding area. The district expressed their commitment to maintaining a safe environment for students and staff.
