People of all abilities can learn to ride a bike at I Can Bike Camp

Bismarck, North Dakota – A remarkable experience in a child’s life is learning to ride a bike, but some children with disabilities might not have the resources to have that opportunity. People of any age have the chance to do that thanks to the I Can Bike Camp.

This is the seventh time that the five-day camp has been hosted in Bismarck.

There are 22 cyclists this year.

The camp is sponsored by the Designer Genes Downs Syndrome Support Network and the Anne Carlsen Center.

“It really just bridges the gap between kids with and without disabilities. Riding a bike is something that almost everybody learns how to do. So it’s just one item we can help cross off a list to make everyone in the community more united,” said Rachael Buss, camp director.

She claims that a large percentage of campers succeed, maybe as a result of the two community volunteers who assist each camper in learning.
