Before harvest, Berthold farmer looks for additional rain

Minot, North Dakota – There are only a few more weeks till harvest when farmers will be able to reap the rewards of their effort.

Wheat, soybeans, corn, canola, and small grains are all grown by Berthold farmer Gery Neshem, a partner and owner of Flatland Farms.

He claims that the early-sown spring wheat and durum look okay and that rain won’t have much of an impact on the yield, but he really needs rain for the seeded crops.

Neshem claims that as of right now, he is unsure of how his crop production would be during this harvest season.

“I think we’re kind of up on air yet here on what it’ll be. I’m thinking the early-seeded small grains crop is gonna be fairly good. I’ll be happy with that, but the later stuff, we’re not sure yet,” said Neshem.

Neshem expresses his desire for rain as soon as possible to benefit the crops of both him and other farmers.
