The North Dakota Home Garden Variety Trial Program will receive seed packets from NDSU Extension

Bismarck, North Dakota – It’s planting time, and with North Dakota’s unpredictable weather, some crops might be challenging to cultivate.

Each spring, North Dakotans get thousands of seed packets from NDSU Extension Horticulturist Tom Kalb. The North Dakota Home Garden Variety Trial Program uses the seeds. They are then used to see numerous recommendations for gardeners in North Dakota based on research findings.

The gardeners that take part in this program report having larger yields and healthier diets as a result. The exercises are straightforward so that youngsters can learn science, and it’s also a family-building activity, according to Kalb.

He claims that because North Dakota is such a difficult region to grow anything, the plants must be able to withstand dry weather and ripen early.

You can apply on the NDSU Extension website, and the seed packets will be distributed until June 15.
