The best method to lower your risk of contracting seasonal flu and spreading it to others is to receive a yearly flu shot.
The flu shot can help prevent flu-related illnesses, doctor visits, and missed work and school time. We all have a crucial role to play each flu season, according to FCPH Public Health Nurse Manager Rachael Johnson. We can safeguard not just ourselves but also our community by getting the flu shot.
The influenza virus infects the nose, throat, and occasionally the lungs, causing a contagious respiratory ailment known as the flu, according to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. It can lead to mild to severe disease, and occasionally even death.
