Active COVID-19 cases in North Dakota increase by more than 44% in the last week

BISMARCK — Following are the North Dakota Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations and vaccinations as of Tuesday, March 30. Because all data is preliminary, some numbers and totals may change from one day to the next.

Statewide case rates

  • NEW CASES: 245
  • TOTAL ACTIVE CASES: 1,044
  • TOTAL CASES: 102,880
  • TOTAL RECOVERED: 100,370
  • DAILY TEST POSITIVITY RATE: 6.15%

North Dakota’s active case count increased by 123 on Tuesday. Cass County reported 124 positive cases, while Grand Forks County reported 28 additional positive cases. The number of active cases in North Dakota has increased by more than 44% in the last week. Active cases steadily declined in January and February, but March has seen the number of active cases increase.

Hospitalizations, deaths

  • ACTIVE HOSPITALIZATIONS: 15
  • TOTAL DEATHS: 1,466

Vaccinations

  • FIRST DOSE ADMINISTERED: 229,101 (39.4% of population)
  • COMPLETED SERIES (Two doses): 148,036 (25.4% of population)

A total of 391,704 shots have been administered to North Dakotans. The state has opened up its vaccine eligibility to all in the general public who are over 16 years old. The Department of Health urges residents to seek more information at www.health.nd.gov/covidvaccinelocator.
